Summer of Support
With the welcoming of summer, Helios Consulting takes time to recognize that NEED doesn’t take a summer vacation. This year, we are proud to once again host our annual Summer of Support (SOS)!
Families still need to make ends meet and shouldn’t have to make the choice between paying their electric bill or buying food. During Summer of Support last year, in the midst of the pandemic, we raised over $1600 and were able to donate over 50lbs of food to the Calgary Food Bank. Once again this year, we’ve partnered with the Calgary Food Bank and are happy to announce that with our recent expansion of our team into Whitehorse, Yukon, we will also be supporting a non-profit organization in the Yukon.
The organization that we’ve chosen to work with is called Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Society Yukon and is a unique and wonderful organization. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Society Yukon (FASSY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering accepting and educated communities, where individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) have equal access to opportunities to reach their full potential. FASSY has been dedicated and passionate in their work with FASD as a society since 1996. They continue to provide a vital resource to Yukon communities about the impact of FASD. Their Mission is to foster informed, inclusive and nurturing communities that work together to prevent FASD and to support individuals affected by FASD.
These two organizations are near and dear to our hearts and every dollar offered changes lives – no donation is too big or too small! We encourage you to get to know our Partners and learn more about what they do to serve our communities!
